This December we will again head outdoors for the event put on by the Parkville Nature Sanctuary. We’ve had a blast every time we’ve attended, and hope to see Santa there again! There is no cost for this event. Groups have traditionally met at the picnic tables just off the parking area off Highway 9.
More information about the Parkville Nature Sanctuary and a map can be found on their website. Last time we attended we had fun making bird feeders at the picnic area, hiking with Santa to the Girl Scout Cabin, having s’mores while visiting with Santa, and helping to decorate a wildlife tree.
As always, be sure to bring anything you and your family need to stay warm and enjoy the outdoors. Check out the What to Bring page for more ideas. We will be there rain or shine or snow, and hope to see you there too!
Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves. –John Muir
